Carrie May

MA work

My collage constructions emerge from a fascination for arranging and layering aged papers, textures, colours and print detail into a resolved composition.

I strongly believe that children deserve material which is visually enticing and educational. The Wordy Hurdy Gurdy is a screen-based book aimed at children learning to read, write and spell. It subtly employs the use of synthetic phonics as an educational tool, which encourages children to recognise sounds within words in order to provide a clearer understanding of their construction and pronunciation.
