En utpost mot havet : An outpost against the sea
Time seems to reach forwards and backwards simultaneously, it stutters, pauses, glitches, gets stuck, shuttles at a fast forward pace, throwing out many unanswered questions from the specific to the universal. I am interested in forming free
associative connections using a range of processes, a form of image gathering and appropriation, across the analogue and the digital, moving and breathing in times of stifled containment.

I am interested in negotiating the complexities that exist within, around and between the gaps of an idea, hard to define and articulate, the place of overlap. The grey area. Something fragile, hard to hold. By resisting categorisation, the work avoids dominant hierarchies, seen as virtual nets that restrict freedom of thought.
Through a slowly moving, circular process, researching around a specific starting point, I find what I consider to be the sediment, something fundamental yet pervasive. I look for a tension that exists between historical archive and contemporary debate and investigate this state of uncertainty by exploring materials and their ability to transform. I try to investigate something hard to understand – to translate and show a shift of perspective.
What unfolds is a speculative body of work with a non-linear narrative, shape-shifting and adapting during installation, responding to situated environments. ‘Fragments’ of printed matter, drawing, moving image are brought together as evidence, object or condition becoming aggregate or lost, added or erased over time.
