Climate Change Tourism
Never let a good crisis go to waste.Â
As we start to see the effects of climate change throughout our planet, the project climate change tourism seeks to find ways to exploit the opportunities that come from these effects in the near future.
Through the project, the process of filtering flood water is turned into a spectacle and attraction. The chosen site is used as a natural bio filter for the polluted floodwater. The biofilter mimics the processes of a natural tidal wetland, one of nature’s most productive ecosystems. Plants thrive as they absorb minerals from the floodwater in which facilitates the growth of plants and simultaneous cleans the water. This again creates a healthy environment for other types of life such as fish and algae. The flood water goes through multiple steps of these natural filters until the water is cleaned and can be used for non-drinking purposes. It is through these steps and the change of tide the building will come alive through design solution in direct relation to the flooding. Using the resources within the building the program is self-sufficient of both energy food and gas.Â
