  • In my recent works I have been dealing with the flickering nature of the art object between fiction and reality. My installations drift between familiar and suggested scenes and sets. The boundary between the recognisable and the proposedare dissolved by the abundance of multi-layered perceptions imposed on the objects and a controlled setting in which they are encountered. My work consists of 'intermediate' stages that provide the means for a possible synopsis but without a fixed grip, they linger in-between their presence and absence and so amidst the real and the fictive. I consider my pieces as halted moments of endless possibilities, hovering in a state of uncertainty, frozen in one of many of these probable scenarios. There is a strong play with the haptic, a suggested touch or a performative movement suspended within the objects and only played out within the imagination of the audience. Consequently, there is an emphasis on testing what role does each viewer play as an active performer within my installations.
