Bianca Brunner

MA work

The work is fundamentally about the construction of an image by way of the literal construction of a stage, upon which events might happen or have already happened. The structures I've built are in fact useless they only exist to be photographed.

It is the repetitive act of construction and implied deconstruction that asserts itself more and more as the work progresses.

There is a poetry, a conceptual economy to constructing a stage out of wood against the background of wood; across the four images there is even the suggestion of a minimal narrative of magical transformation.
