Good Talk
Good Talk is a community-driven service and digital platform that enables conversations for young people (between 14 and 21) about their mental health. Good Talk creates new and diverse local settings for them to talk, either online or face-to-face, with their chosen volunteer.
The service aims to:
(1) Provide early support for young people so the non-severe cases never ended up becoming a severe case.
(2) Create tailor-made environments by young people.
(3) Create a learning ecosystem that generates up to date information directly from young people to inform professionals and services.
The strategy behind Good Talk is to involve the community and make citizens take ownership of the problems around mental health, moving from a medical model to a social approach; providing support for young people in a more accessible and relatable way.
