How well are we learning to live within our means, within the means of the earth?
Fairground suggests a strategic, collective redeployment of art, design and humanities tuition fees in collaboration with the Transition Network to form a global urban campus, bridging education, design practice and community action.
The thesis project is a spatial script spanning a five-year period, enabling any group of people to collectively activate their neighbourhood as a space of education, facilitating ethical access to space, tools and resources.
The role of the architect expands to support the activation and occupation of the existing urban environment.
