It is interesting to see how an old medium such as ceramics can be enhanced by the use of digital tools to give it a contemporary aesthetic. To create objects that incorporate elements of the digital and the organic, I have used details observed in nature — lines left by waves on sand or patterns made by flowing liquids. The virtual forms were manufactured using direct, low-tech processes — through stacking layers of plaster, foam or paper — and then finished by hand.
