"The Moment" Collection - Experiencing Lived Time
In response to the time pressure in contemporary life, "The Moment” Collection advocates temporal autonomy and seeks to develop alternative time concepts outside the framework of clock time and societal norms.
In "The Moment” Collection, I use a deconstructed yet functional wardrobe to replace the daily question “what should I wear today?” with “how should I spend my time?” suggesting that we can make choice with our time experience. The wearables inside show different stages of being and highlight the perception of lived time in order to bring a new way of experiencing own presence. They all cause a situation in clock time logic which helps participants think outside the limitation of the man-made concept of mechanical time. On another level, by providing these wearables, I aim to let participants create self-image in public space in peak hours and open up an unexplored space for thinking about new ways of understanding time and experiencing the moment.
