‘The degree of slowness is directionally proportional to the intensity of memory. The degree of speed is directionally proportional to the intensity of forgetting.’
Milan Kundera, The Book of Laughter and Forgetting
A fictional fast-food restaurant, in which the rituals of eating and the spatial structure within are manipulated by the slowness of the building. The architectural experience extends from the building down to the cutlery and the utensils, which in turn gives the food its unique forms.
Can such a place of slowness be a catalyst for creating a sequence of lasting memories in a world so fast that we continue to forget?
