The Blue Funnel Line and a Ring in his Pocket

A journey from the known to the unknown through objects and finding a loved one during the journey.

These objects carried with us for whatever reasons, are so intrinsically linked to who we are as individuals, in our aspirations, beliefs and ideas.

They migrate continents using us as their couriers, messengers and carers, to be placed at the feet of our loved ones, offered on a palm or kept safe in a pocket.

  • I am a classically trained goldsmith running a studio practice from one of the oldest buildings in Liverpool, The Bluecoat Arts Centre, designing and making by hand, using traditional methods, I specialise in re-designing and remodelling old jewellery of sentimental value. 

    I am a jeweller, storyteller, the son of a Chinese immigrant. I tell the stories of  other through their commissioned objects and pieces, by encapsulating these messages and memories that they share with me.

    The physical scale of my pieces is increasing and my observations of our modern chaotic world feeds this move towards a more sculptural size.
