Aoelus, Margate pier
'On Margate sands, I can connect nothing with nothing ... my people humble people expect, NOTHING'.
- TS Eliot, 1921.
Surrounded by water since its construction in 1856, the harbour has long served a purpose as a means of leisure and trade in Margate.
Having always been a Pier ' for People', the new proposal aims to create a space to admire the spectacularly link between the land, the sea and the sky. Basing my design on the theory of Escapism I explore the psychogeography and narrative of the spaces.Â
The new scheme include three distinctive typologies in order to reclaim the sea :
The Street : A harbour / Fish market
The Bay : A water garden green promenade / An Industry of harvesting seaweed
The Sea : A water chamber / Sea organ
Much like the fisherman exploited the sea to its full potential, the pavilions aims to regenerate the history of imagery, sound and economy of the Harbour.

I have been working in Paris, London and Mexico for the past few years and I would say that being faced with different cultures is the most inspiring asset a designer can experience and relate into his work.
The practice of Interior Design is the ‘magic' behind a facade, arousing emotions in humans, it shapes their experiences and leaves them memories. When ingeniously, integrity, authenticity and a bit of mystery operates together, I believe Art enters in. I consider that interiors are natural projections of our soul.
