Anna Chrysopoulo
MA work
MA work
Anna’s work is centred around the theme of relationships; the relationship she has with herself, with others and the environment that surrounds her. It is expressive of her personal experiences and reflects how relationships can influence one’s emotions and state of mind.Â
She states, ‘A face points both ways; at once facing the outside whilst looking inwards to quite another continent or landscape that is invisible to another. Glass as a material enables me to translate and clarify emotional states and the subjective.’
Exploring this theme, her concepts have been translated through a conversation; a relationship in the fusion of glass with metals.Â
The knowledge and understanding of compatibility gained through extensive experimentation by combining these materials is an essential part of her making process.Â
Solid and hollow glass with metal inclusions form the visual language that is now characteristic of her work.
Dealing with the personal is a strong source of inspiration for Anna; a balance between triangulating the relationship of experiences and the artefacts of her own making. Â

In 2001, during the last three months of her Fine Art degree, Anna discovered glass and became captivated by it as a material. She went on to pursue her passion at Westminster Adult Education College and completed higher national qualifications in glass. Following this Anna continued within the field of glass-making in her work for other glass artists. She has been teaching kiln-formed glass at the college she studied (WAES) for over a decade before coming to study at the Royal College of Art. Anna is a London based glass artist predominantly working in cast glass with metal inclusions.
