The Architecture of Distributed Social Care: The Case of Athens
The research examines the architectural characteristics of distributed social care services that have emerged in the public spaces of Athens since the beginning of the financial crisis in 2008. It identifies the nature of supportive infrastructure, shortfalls in practical resources, and ways in which public space could be adapted or re-designed to better support distributed social care. The study evaluates the impact of the transition from perceiving public space as a social space to a space where social care can also become intrinsic.Â

I hold a BA in Architecture and an MArchD Applied Design in Architecture degree. I have been interested in site specific performance arts and the relationship between the moving body and the physical space that surrounds it.Â
