Andrea Pallares Roca
Dense city living is changing the way we use our ever decreasing space and urban homes frequently amalgamate sleeping, living, working and eating areas into one small space. Hence, the bed, a significant home furnishing in size, is not only asked to accommodate the sleep, but also many of other daily activities for which it is not prepared to.
Nook is a new type of upholstered furniture able to effortlessly switch between a sheltered and comfortable private corner and a social, open place. The project matches its time by providing a functional and adaptable solution that meets with global city dwellers’ new emerging needs and challenges the traditional ideas of how a home looks like and the relationships that can be built in within.
