BonaCity: Enabling connections for a better city
BonaCity is a platform that addresses the challenges which mass tourism brings to Barcelona city and its residents, by leveraging its rich culture and technology to shape high-quality tourism and strengthen local culture makers.
Barcelona is a city of 1.7 million residents, yet it receives more than 32 million tourists every year. This mass tourism phenomenon is jeopardising the capacity of the city’s infrastructure, its resident’s wellbeing and the existence of the local cultural identities.
By using service design approaches, we are exploring how to empower individuals and cultural communities to reshape the city's tourism in ways that are more sustainable and beneficial for their neighbourhoods.
BonaCity is a platform that enables connections for experiencing a richer city, from local cultural makers and residents to travellers. It is a platform for local culture makers - including local gastronomy producers, artists, shopkeepers and artisans - to promote their work and services, enable collaboration, access their customers and understand their expectations. It is a tool for residents to create their own city's narrative which represents more of their local reality. It is also a guide for travellers exploring the city and its neighbourhoods, by providing easy access and tips to enjoy a meaningful, authentic experience by connecting directly with the people who make the local culture.

I am a service designer and the focus of my works is improving peoples' quality of life by designing services that better meet their needs. I am passionate about investigating how public sector services can impact peoples' quality of life and exploring how design can enable common social wellbeing through third-party organisations and social enterprising.
I have 12 years of experience working in the delivery of services, using project management skills to lead the implementation of such projects. During my studies in service design, I have enriched my knowledge of research methodologies, capturing user needs, finding and analyzing patterns and converting insights into design opportunities.
