MA work

Meta-devices

The aim of the project is to trace the process of how technology gets processed by humans and gets blended with the local folklore and beliefs. I look at a particular location, such as Tooting Market, which is situated in the periphery of the city and represent an eclectic and exotic blend of different cultures and beliefs.

I intend to create a series of non-pragmatic devices that manifest various aspects of the interrelationships between the high-tech science and myth and customs local to this place.

The aesthetic I am looking at that of mass-produced cheap electronic goods. After making this object, the plan is to try to sell them at the market.
