Cafe racer for the intelligent riding era
Concept Hera is a cafe racer for the intelligent riding era. It combines old ways of owning and riding a motorbike with modern technology. The aim of the technology is to enhance the riding experience and not take control off the rider. Ultimately it is the risk that many riders are drawn to, and in this day and age it is important for some of us to feel the adrenaline rush in our body. Also it is great to look into the past and experience how it felt riding a cafe racer between the cafes in the 60s and 70s.Â
At the same time, Virtual reality is used to improve on those experiences for the first generation of intelligent motorbikes. It declutters our already very busy city roads and reduces distraction. it could also change the surrounding and turn a dark and cloudy day into a nice sunny day.
A distinct mindset is required for a rider who use their bike on a daily basis, pleasure, or for busy city commutes. A busy city ride requires great visibility, ease of maneuverability and more focus, and weekend countryside rides are required to fully unwind, lean in, and throw yourself into the corners.

I am a motorcycle enthusiast and the passion for the rich culture, history, and the community around them is what got me interested in designing them.Â
I believe some things are too good to be lost in history and riding a motorbike and the feeling of being in control is one of them. As the motorbike industry is entering the intelligent riding era, it is important to keep the core essence of riding a motorbike alive. Technology can be a great way to enhance the riding experience, but only if it is done in the right way.Â
When it comes to designing the aesthetics, I look into the past but start with a clean slate. Â
