Sacred Bodies: Transformations of the Soul
This project draws on the ancient symbolism of The Tree of Life and The Wings of the Soul to explore themes within animism, shamanism, mythology and metamorphosis.
‘We are not bodies only, but wingéd spirits, with the power to enter animal forms’
– Ovid, Metamorphoses

My practice explores the interconnectedness of nature and consciousness, in particular examining the relationships between the human and non-human.
Physical and spiritual connections within the organic world are intertwined as elemental and ethereal bodies. My work draws on bonds between the material and the abstract, anatomy and botany, auras and energy flow, life and death.
My work seeks to tell a story of human beings reuniting with the sacred complexities of nature, our environment and ourselves.
