MA work

As a society we have an impoverished concept of illness, which fails to help us understand the experience of being ill. The project proposes a new medical facility where design can be used as a language to discuss issues of living with illness, the future development of scientific research and a new take on medical care.

I have designed a toolbox of methods using performance, alternative workshops and filmmaking. These have been designed to engage patients, scientists and clinicians to contribute to an alternative healthcare proposal, which incorporates design thinking and speculation. Can design thinking propose alternative ways of understanding and treating people living with disease?

Collaborators: Neuroimmunology Group at Barts and The London NHS Trust.
