Planet Phantastic

The film tells the story of a parallel universe that hopes to serve as an escapist antidote to our current cultural climate. In this universe our earth is duplicated almost identically but with one stark difference – the majority of the population decide naturally not to have children. In the utopia the hopes of a species are held in diametric opposition to its sad impossibility. It is this powerful oscillation that contains the human condition – the need to believe in something despite oneself.

  • My practice is inherently multidisciplinary, using varying means to immerse the viewer in constructed worlds. Focusing on willing suspensions of disbelief, my work plays with the fictions we create for ourselves. Revealing their own construction, these worlds cultivate frictions between myth and reality – examining the very edges of belief.
