MA work

Huella vivida

My work aims to create a dialogue between the individual and the object.

Object, as any physical or metaphysical body lived and represented under a shared inclusive and timeless context. It seeks to outline and cross-reference both opposite and complementary imagery to develop a discursive methodology of ideas.

How the identity works in relation to the body and objects.

It intends to question and debate stereotypes in relation to clothes and Western culture, visual image and words.

If perceived incomplete or inaccurate it is due to its nature, as it does not aim to create unique and finite answers. The main goal is to humanly express the constant struggle having to define identity within material objects, explicitly clothes.

Although this does not want the disappearance of clothes, for its cultural and artistic value, it does express the limitation of them to define human identity.

The objective is to focus on the trace that is created between multiple subjects. A space in between that sometimes is inexplicable, personal and intimate.

  • “If clothing is the external fragments of the human body represented through time,

the body is the ephemeral base where clothing stands in time and space”.

I am interested in the trace that is created when two bodies share a space and time. How each one informs the other and how it informs the perception that we have of the “real” object.

To do so, I use new technologies that enhance artisanal processes in order to create timeless and singular pieces.
