I was originally trained in Engineering Science at Oxford and have an MBA from Harvard. I am a system designer, system architect, CTO and entrepreneur with several decades of experience.
My work uses the multi-disciplinary techniques of design; craft; systems thinking; industrial engineering; electronics; sculpture; digital methods and cutting edge bio, materials and micro technology to create original new products and services. My focus is on innovation, simplicity and user value. I like working with teams who use multi-disciplinary skills for imaginative problem solving.
I have a focus on health and medical systems and devices - but also an interest in monumental sculpture, the domestic, the hidden beauty of industrial design and the surreal.
I think the fields of materials science; nano and micro devices; health, medical and biotech; and pervasive computing, algorithms and ‘big data’ provide exciting opportunities for both commercial and social innovation.
For my new studio, Anagram, I am looking for commissions, partnerships, entrepreneurial opportunities and both sweat equity and cash investment opportunities related to design, health or high-tech. I will also consider directorships and pro-bono work for appropriate causes.
