Air-port City – ‘London’s economic gateway’
Using London City Airport the proposal attempts to reconfigure the site amalgamating boat, train, airplane and airship into a single destination, all under a duty free roof. Air-port City will establish a transport economy rooted by local context and vernacular, humanising transportation, moving it away from an environment so often associated with ‘non-place’. Through the combination of a local and global transport node, the proposal will attempt to resolve contextualism within a current state of globalised travel and nomadism.
