ADS4: IMMORTALITY
Set in 2020, Genatorium – Breeding Ground for the Risk Averse is a design for a medical and education facility in Southwark. The project champions progressions in life science that may soon allow childbirth to be safer and more widely accessible. The building satisfies a range of user groups: from single-sex couples and too-posh-to-bulge women to those who pose a physical or psychological threat to their unborn child. It aims to express the dilemmas and desires of these people through an architecture of reassuring precision and monumental delicacy.
