I reflect my thoughts, views, and opinions of my everyday experience onto my work, and am interested in cultural division and inbetweeness.Â
Our society creates categories of all sorts for making it easy for us to understand things and facts in our lives. But this phenomenon often blinds our eyes and minds and causes misreading, or distorts the realities and the facts. We are bound by the fetters of conventional ideas and rules thus quashing any doubts we may have. I question it for myself and for viewers of my work.

In my approach to making things, I would like to be the conductor rather than the player of a single instrument, to take the analogy of the orchestra, by using a range of methods and materials in my work. I am interested in considering both the subject matter and the materiality of ceramics at the same time. I investigate the potential of ceramics and its role in an art context by making the best use of ceramics’ peculiarity and flexibility. I’m also interested in the coexistence of traditional ideas of ceramics together with the experimental use of clay and ceramics. Therefore I am not attached to the idea of using only one technique but using different methods and clays for challenging and maximising ceramics’ possibility.Â
