Dearbhaile Heaney

MA work

My practice focuses on materials, their materiality and physical capabilities, and how this affects their cultural and social significance. Using design methods, I examine and experiment with our perception of the substances that surround us, and by re-appropriating them, find insights into our notions of material acceptability and non-acceptability.
