Inside

Dagny Rewera

MA work

Dagny Rewera's practice revolves around hidden worlds and natural phenomena which surround us, but might be unnoticed in our daily lives.

My role as a designer is choreographing these invisible worlds, revealing their beauty and importance and guiding the users from the mundane into the spectacle.

The ''Echoic Vessels'' project is a series of cremation urns, preserving sound memories through invisible magnetic patterns embedded in the ceramic material.

The urn stores sounds related to the deceased life, triggering memories of the bereaved and creating a tangible object of remembrance.

Our memories fade away, just as objects might erode or tarnish over time. Through use, the sound encoded in the micron-size particles of iron oxide, slowly disintegrate into dust, distorting the recorded sound. This gradual change mirrors the cathartic process of grieving.
