The Life Automatic

Welcome to the Life Automatic: a new type of service station that tends to an increasingly mobile society.

As all forms of all forms of transport  public, private, logistical – become fully automated and driverless. The UK’s motorways experience a surge in occupation, as the interior of a car becomes a space to live in and sleep in, as well as travelling in.

The Mouse, Cat, Elephant and Tortoise are new types of vehicles that promote varying lifestyles within this new nomadic culture. As they settle, their parking becomes more like mooring; generating a new jiggly urbanism around their new cultural centre.

In an ever more colourful and graphic landscape designed to make the passenger look outwards once again, the architecture’s symbolic beacons act as a gateway into and out of London.
