Flash, Flashes
‘Flash, Flashes’ is an exploration of the flash and its relation to representation, perception and time. It is based on the premise that flash, apprehended both literally and metaphorically, can be the object of perception and a mode of perception; the perception of a flash and the perception in a flash.
The research for this project mostly concerns theory of perception, history of representation, history of art (painting, photography, cinema), and literature.
The structure of the project has been conceived as a series of ten essays, effectively ten flashes, interrupted by five short texts which break into the rhythm and at the same time provide one. They function as lighting of a specific work of art, or a notion, or as the recounting of an experience.
