Show RCA 2019

Rebekah Hendrickse

Show RCA work

Major project:

Freedom, Liberation and a Chain

Finding much joy and exhilaration whizzing in circles around Regents Park, discovering respite from the bustling noisy city, Rebekah has sought to translate this experience. Rebekah has taken inspiration from artists such as – Bridget Riley, Norman Ackroyd, and Cy Twombly, and designers such as Mariano Fortuny and Issey Miyake, to aid in the translation of her ideas, and used photographs, paintings, and drawing to inform her design development.

Using a mix of natural and synthetic yarns, this collection is soft in handle, vivid in colour, and pleated with precision.

  • Contact

  • Passionate, keen and enthusiastic; Rebekah has created a collection of woven textiles for fashion that embodies the essence and experience of cycling – escapism, freedom, and the outdoor elements. Taking root in her dissertation, which explored the role and function of female sportswear in western culture, Rebekah’s work seeks to embody a wholesome view of experiencing sports in today's culture.
