Major project:
Distortion
Inspired by the optical effects of prisms I have worked to encapsulate the notions of refraction, reflection and distortion.
As an innovative material thinker, who works organically to exploit materials, I have challenged traditional ideas of joining, embellishment, structure, and drape, within knitted textiles.
Understanding the relationship between alternative materials and knit techniques has allowed me to create organic three-dimensional structures, which distort and defy the regimented nature of machine knitting.

As an innovative material thinker, who works organically and exponentially to exploit materials, I am always producing new perspectives for knitted textiles.
With experience working on the Dubied, Shima Seiki, and domestic knitting machines, I work to challenge the regimented nature of such machinery. My experimental approach to materials and processes distorts the perfection of machine knitting, to envision a more organic textile.
The primary focus within my work has always been producing fabrics for fashion. However, with an overarching interest into fabric behaviour; alternative materials and hand manipulation, I am able to envisage knit into a variety of different contexts and applications for the future of knit.
