Major project:
Edge Effect 'Which in the natural world is the juxtaposition of two contrasting environments or ecosystems.'
Eloise specialises in hand printed textiles, with a passion for drawing and expressive mark making. Focussing strongly on the processes and development, Eloise has created a cohesive collection of hand printed textiles, which focus strongly on the processes used in traditional screen printing; using them in challenging and innovative ways, looking at the relationship of process, creative thinking and materials. Detailed hand painted samples reflecting an abstract interpretation from movement, textures, signs, and scenery from my own journeys; and looking at the juxtaposition of two contrasting environments.
Eloise puts an extremely strong emphasis on the development, experimenting directly on to the material, which created unexpected and unpredicted details. This quote by Kazuaki Tanahashi summarises my design ethos for this collection, 'As soon as you accept the accidental effects, they are no longer accidents, they are necessity. The part of yourself that you could not expect or design beforehand. Thus the realm of your creativity grows wider'.
