Major project:

Touch

Ariane is a weave designer who focuses on creating interactive wearable textiles. Her work explores the impact of trauma on the mind, body and brain. The purpose of her work is to investigate the concept of touch therapy, and help people dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder recover their senses, both through visual and tactile explorations.

Her very fine and delicate designs explore mistakes and imperfections, and how they can become part of a design. These mistakes represent scars and the idea that the memory of a trauma will persist, but that it is possible to live with it.

Ariane creates textiles that help women feel safe in their own bodies; and focuses on developing textures that awaken the sensations and emotions of happiness, serenity, self, beauty, self-esteem and empowerment.
