Materials made from living organisms, such as fungi and bacteria, have the potential to be sustainable alternatives to traditional materials. However, currently, there aren’t tools to support this development. Living Microfactories is a set of tools that aims to bridge that gap. By providing control of light, heat, air flow, nutrients, and sterility it enables rapid prototyping of living materials.
