Major project:

The Miasma

The killers are invisible. A shiver runs down your spine as you, the protagonist, check to see if they are on your tail. The orchestra builds to a crescendo as they creep up on you. A rise – followed only by discomforting silence.

Noise and air pollution are two major environmental and public health concerns in cities around the world. Although information and infrastructure dedicated to finding out about everyday levels of exposure are often freely and publicly available, we often filter them out as we move through our urban environments. The Miasma is an auditory experience, which steers people away from polluted areas using the sounds of the surrounding environment combined with an adaptive soundtrack inspired by cinematic techniques.

Info

  • As a designer, I am primarily interested in issues at the intersection of design, philosophy and politics. I am curious about how design, like philosophy, might be used to draw attention to implicit beliefs we might have about the world.
