Major project:

Puñeta #1

Puñeta #1 focuses on a community that I share an intimate knowledge of, my home of Puerto Rico. My work identifies the physical qualities and aesthetics of the environment, architecture and individuals from the island. This is reflected through personal imagery and perceptions of the local environment, which serve as the foundation for my textiles and garments.

Info

  • Krystal is a designer and native from the island of Puerto Rico. She has practiced in various cities, such a New York, Milan, Copenhagen and London, which have had an invaluable influence on her work.

Her effort to represent different communities is reflected through personal imagery and perceptions of the local environment; in order to serve as the foundation for her clothing. She uses her experiences to connect with audiences from diverse backgrounds, which enables them to relate and contribute to the creative development.

Although her main medium is clothing, she uses set design and social practices, such as workshops, to bring people together and create collectively.
