Show RCA 2019

Clara Chu

Show RCA work

Major project:

Chew by Chu

Chew by Chu questions the definition of a fashion accessory item in the context of food and its system of transportation. The collection re-appropriates mass produced kitchenware, while utilising both handcrafted processes and technology, such as resin casting, 3D printing, laser cutting and traditional leather techniques in bag making. By associating our bodies with anonymous designs, such as a juicer, a water bottle cap and a funnel, this collection emphasises on its humorous translation that encourages re-imagination of our everyday mundane household objects.
