Show RCA 2019

Lucy Mae Anderson

Show RCA work

Major project:

This is not a survey of 24 pools in London

As I change a cleaner is sweeping the water out of the showers, and into the drains that criss cross the floor of the changing rooms. I hop around to avoid it, but I still get splashed by little waves of the murky, foaming water that sloshes over my feet.

-------------------

The lifeguard blows the whistle and we all get out of the pool, standing around half naked and dripping onto the tiles. He grabs a net and fishes around in the water until he brings up a plaster. We all dive back in.

Info

  • I am a research-led artist interested in reinterpreting the ways in which places and objects can influence our relationship with the world around us. My background in ceramic design has given me a material-based perspective on the behaviours and ephemera that construct everyday life.
