Major project:
Metastability: Dislocation and the Non Space of Airports
This project explores the spatial, temporal and social dislocation experienced as people encounter the infrastructure and architecture of airports.
Based on personal experience and interviews, the project presents a data set drawn from airports around the globe with narrative content drawn from those who have experienced the effects of this non space.
Increasingly human beings are subject to the macro demands of security and statehood in places of transit. This project explores how individuals can be summarily excluded, rendered invisible and cast out in the pursuit of frictionless travel and security and how this is an unequally distributed experience.
