Major project:
Charlie-Gibbs: Conserving the More Than Human Through Off-shore Financial Data Centres
This project draws upon Microsoft’s prototype oceanic data centre: Project Natick. Using high-frequency trading as a catalyst for the emergence of future mid-ocean data centres, this project investigates designing off-shore data centre infrastructures for the human, machine and animal. It is located in Charlie-Gibbs, a Marine Protected Area (MPA) in the mid North Atlantic Ocean. It seeks to rethink these off-shore infrastructures as a spatial tool for conserving the more than human.
