Major project:

The Parliament of Things : What Becomes of Architecture in a World Where Democracy Extends to Things Themselves?

'What is a thing? What if things could speak? What would they tell us? Or are they speaking already, and we just don’t hear them?'

Hito Steyerl, The Language of Things

The discussion of ontological hierarchy, between human beings, animals, living things and inanimate objects and the political agency they all hold is shifting our very own ethical codes and social value systems, reframing our relationship to objects, from a politics of recognition, of standing out, to a politics of immersion, of being with.

Based on Bruno Latour’s call for a new constitution, the project poses the question – ‘What becomes of architecture in a world where democracy extends to things themselves?’ – and seeks to address the global issue of over-consumption through the fictional universal organisation named ‘The Parliament of Things’.
