• I approach my practice as a game, a game that has a logical structure but slides beyond its own boundaries. Through mark making, abstract shapes, use of scale and primary colours, I try to create playful yet violent dialogues. An ongoing conversation that revolves around abstraction, inversion, symbolism, narrative function, anxiety and faith. This has led me to a practice that involves rules making and risks taking. The rules that I create are not merely rules that come to the fore through visual work, but are rules that immediately make the audience move. Rules that are activated when interaction with my art takes place.
