Major project:
Every Body is Heavy
'Every Body is Heavy' follows the conversation of two ambiguous entities on an infected-computer controlling a surveillance system. The film is shot almost entirely on drones flown over the cliffs of Dover and Calais in the months leading up to the initial Brexit date.

Aleks Stanek uses film and object-making to interrogate the power systems behind the ecologies of sentience, extinction and sexuality. Her practice relies on reverse archaeology, where narratives are placed onto a site, and site specificity of augmented reality settings.
