Every Body is Heavy

'Every Body is Heavy' follows the conversation of two ambiguous entities on an infected-computer controlling a surveillance system. The film is shot almost entirely on drones flown over the cliffs of Dover and Calais in the months leading up to the initial Brexit date.

  • Aleks Stanek uses film and object-making to interrogate the power systems behind the ecologies of sentience, extinction and sexuality. Her practice relies on reverse archaeology, where narratives are placed onto a site, and site specificity of augmented reality settings.
