• Through the re-staging of domestic routines, my work has been an exploration of qualities that are inherent with print in regards to the repetitiveness of labour and the mass production of workaday materials. I have been reworking practices of hidden reproductive and emotional labour; considering the parallels that exist within the home and precarious contemporary service industry roles, and how this falls into class based ‘feminised work’. My repeated and direct interventions with found objects record moments, mimic and manipulate the textures of everyday life. There’s a conversation with fabric that threads through the work, as the displays of printed material are on endless rolls, and the imperfect seams of casted negative spaces are laid bare and are unhidden. Through this remaking, the objects fragility is exposed. Reproductions of domestic tools are produced again and again, until they are broken down and are stripped of any function.
