Major project:
Where The Story Begins
Where The Story Begins is a series selected out of a larger, long-term, ongoing body of photographic work, dealing with the notions of home, foreignness and common ground, through the lens of the experience of building an intercultural marriage.
My partner and I got married in late 2018. She is from Taiwan; I am from Russia, but grew up in France; we live in London. We are foreigners both to each other and to the city we reside in. Throughout our relationship, and even more so now at the beginnings of our marriage, we are hand in hand in a quest to find common ground; between ourselves, our families, our histories and our adopted country, which is itself going through a turbulent time in its history.
