Show RCA 2019

Georgia Clemson

Show RCA work

Major project:

Most of the time we are great together

Most of the time we are great together represents several attempts to reinvent the frame as a nurturing container for images. This group of frames has been created using the therapeutic concept of 'holding', and makes reference to the potential in the artist's body to fulfil this purpose. This reference is symbolic in some cases and more direct in others, using the negative spaces within her arms and hands to create shapes and deepen the connection between the artist and her photographic subjects.

  • Primarily an image maker, Georgia Clemson's work comprises photography, sculpture, video and drawing. She is concerned with finding her position as a female artist, and the relationship between photographer and subject. She mixes conventional photographic methods with storytelling, therapeutic language and digitally-aided making technologies.
