Major project:

Being Thrown

A series of paintings responding to the idea of 'being thrown'.

Info

  • Our bodies always look for the melting boundaries, attempting to extend the ‘self’ to the outer world and retrieve the long-lost sense of belonging through extension.

Therefore, the painting surface is like wavy water.

It is oscillating back and forth while colours, traces and lines are dragging one another. They are together fighting elegantly against a strong force. The interval between them yields a sense of space and interaction is made through the seduction of the painting act.

The need for a melting boundary creates the subtle force. It is floating.

Moonlight falls on the water, melts into the water and then reappears.
