When you see a gorgeous necklace in the showcase that you desire to buy, have you ever thought that the necklace made you think as much because it wants to go home with you?
When you find that your ring has oxidised, have you ever considered that the mark of oxidation is actually its product of metabolite?
When you couldn't find your earrings anywhere in the drawer, when you're certain that you have put it there, did you ever think that it actually escaped by itself?
Jewellery is alive, only we didn't notice.
They attract us to own them, to wear them, but it is not easy to get rid of them once they get on your body.

Rui Liu is a person who doesn't like to make normal wearable jewellery. She doesn't care much about the outside world, so the theme of her work is mostly her own experience and feelings. Because of her childhood experience, her love of fairy tales and science fiction movies, she regards jewellery as a living creature on the human’s body rather than just an object. She doesn't like precious stones and metals, but likes to play with different materials and transform them into something new.
