Show RCA work

Major project:

Linocut images from the book Bird boy. The story is that after falling from a plane as a baby, a child is raised by birds in an isolated house in the woods where he meets a curious little creature who befriends him. When his friend mysteriously disappears, he embarks on a journey into the city, where adventures, love and despair await him. This project started out as a continuation of my narrative workshop project.

  • I am an illustrator and printmaker. I came all the way from Mexico in 2009 to study in London. When I entered the Royal College I wanted to explore narrative with my work and different ways to create it.

I’ve come to discover that in my practice I rely more on spontaneous ideas that come from the process of creation, rather than formulating a plan or a full story beforehand. Starting out with an image or a set of images and continuing from there I end up with a body of work that I can later edit and transform into a narrative.
